Delete your Kiddie Kredit data

You can delete one child, or your whole family account, from inside the Kiddie Kredit app. You do not need to contact us, and you do not need to wait.

Delete one child

The rest of your family is untouched.

  1. Open Kiddie Kredit and go to the Family tab.
  2. Tap Privacy & data.
  3. Tap Delete a child and choose the child.
  4. Enter your parent PIN.
  5. Type the child's first name to confirm, then tap Delete.

Delete your whole family account

  1. Open Kiddie Kredit and go to the Family tab.
  2. Tap Privacy & data.
  3. Tap Delete family account.
  4. Enter your parent PIN.
  5. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete.

What happens next

Deleting a child removes them right away and cannot be undone. You can add your child again as a new profile.

Deleting your family account makes it unreadable right away. For seven days you can reverse this by signing back in and tapping Bring my family back, and everything returns as it was. After seven days, deletion is permanent and cannot be recovered.

Either way, any partner organization your child was enrolled with loses access to your child's information the next time its portal loads.

What is deleted

Your child's name, date of birth, avatar and reading setting. Their chores, tasks, scores, score bands, streaks, badges, rewards and notes. Chore photographs. Organization task records and consent records. Device identifiers.

When you delete your whole family account, we also delete your sign-in details, your parental verification data, your rewards balance, and your name and email address, except where they appear in the transaction records described below.

What is kept, and why

Once gift-card rewards launch, we will keep the rewards-fund ledger and gift-card orders for 7 years, or longer where unclaimed property law requires, with your child's name removed. We keep them to comply with consumer protection regulations and state unclaimed property reporting requirements. Apple, Google and any payment provider keep their own records of purchases under their own policies.

Our server logs keep account identifiers, but no names or notes, for 30 days.

Chore photographs are deleted automatically 30 days after they are uploaded, whether or not you ask.

After the seven-day hold, we purge your information from our systems. Encrypted backup copies last longer: hourly backups for 2 days, daily for 7 days, weekly for 4 weeks and monthly for 12 months. A copy may therefore remain in a monthly backup for up to 12 months after the purge. Backups are never used to serve the app, and are only restored in the event of a system failure.

If you want your family's information before you delete it, tap Download your family data on the same Privacy & data screen. We email you a file with everything we hold.

If you cannot use the app

Email support@kreditacademy.com or call 855-5-KREDIT (855-557-3348) and we will action the same request within 30 days.

We can only act on a request sent from the email address on the account. This protects your family: it means nobody else can delete your children's information. If you no longer have access to that address, write to us from any address and we will verify you another way before doing anything.
